The White House on Friday released a smartphone app that gives users direct access to administration updates, social posts, photos and policy pages related to President Donald Trump’s second term.

summary

The White House app offers policy pages, curated news, social feeds, media tools, and contact options. Users can submit tips to ICE while viewing an administrative message section focused on affordability claims and borders. Although the app promised live video, President Trump’s Friday remarks were not streamed in real time.

The government said the app would provide information “straight from the source and without filters” after several teaser videos on official social media accounts hinted at the upcoming release.

The app will provide breaking news, live video, a media library and direct feedback tools, the White House said. In a release, the administration described the product as a way to keep users informed and engaged with the Trump administration through real-time updates and push notifications.

The rollout follows a short teaser campaign on social media that garnered public attention ahead of its launch. People magazine reports that one video shows a woman asking, “I wonder if something is going to launch soon,” after which the White House press secretary responds, “I wonder what’s going to launch soon!” Before the app is published.

The app includes tabs for news, live streams, social feeds, and photo galleries. The Verge reports that much of the content mirrors existing White House web pages, rather than adding another service built specifically for the app.

The release also said the app would direct users to policy and performance pages that were already published on the White House website. The product also incorporates selected news reports and materials focused on President Trump’s policy priorities and record in office, the Daily Voice reports.

The “Contact Us” option in the social section includes a path for users to submit tips through the official U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement form. The same menu also offers options to text the president, contact the White House and sign up for a newsletter.

The app also includes an affordability page built around selected consumer prices. The Daily Voice reports that the section uses limited food supplies and excludes other goods and rising energy costs, while another border page states: “Zero illegal aliens released in the past 10 months.”

Some promised features did not appear at launch

Users will be able to watch speeches and press conferences live, according to a White House release. However, the Daily Voice reported that President Trump’s Friday remarks to farmers at the White House were not available to watch in real time on the app during the afternoon event.

The announcement came as the administration continued to view the cost increases as temporary. While Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described recent price pressures as “short-term volatility,” the app itself focused on selective price declines and investment commitments from foreign governments and large corporations, the Daily Voice reported.
