In a packed Las Vegas arena, NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang stood on stage and marveled at the vivid real-time computer graphics displayed on the screen behind him. He watched as a dark-haired woman stepped through ornate golden double doors, catching the rays of light streaming in through the stained glass windows.

“The amount of geometric patterns you saw was just insane,” Huang told an audience of several thousand people at CES 2025 on Monday night. “It would not have been possible without artificial intelligence.”

The chipmaker and AI darling has announced GeForce RTX 50 Series desktop and laptop GPUs, the most advanced consumer graphics processor units for gamers, creators, and developers. This technology is designed to be used on both desktop and laptop computers.

Ahead of Huang’s speech, Nvidia stock rose 3.4%, surpassing the record set in November. Nvidia and other AI stocks continue to rise amid criticism that their stocks are already rising too high and rising too quickly. Despite concerns about a potential bubble, the industry continues to talk about the possibility.

Huang said GPUs using the company’s next-generation artificial intelligence chip Blackwell could lead to breakthroughs in AI-driven rendering.

“Blackwell, the AI engine, is here for PC gamers, developers, and creators,” Huang said, adding that Blackwell is “the most important computer graphics developer since introducing programmable shading 25 years ago. Innovation,” he added. Blackwell’s technology is now running at full capacity, he said.

Building on the technology Nvidia released 25 years ago, the company announced it would also introduce “RTX neural shaders” that use AI to help render game characters in great detail. This task is notoriously tricky because people can easily spot small errors. Digital human.

Huang said NVIDIA is also introducing a new suite of technologies that will allow “autonomous characters” to perceive, plan and act like human players. These characters help players plan their strategies and adapt their tactics to challenge players and create more dynamic battles.

In addition to Nvidia, tech giants such as AMD, Google, and Samsung will be present at CES 2025 to unveil artificial intelligence tools aimed at helping both content creators and consumers explore entertainment.
