LOS ANGELES — Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a restraining order from incarcerated rapper Tory Lanez until early 2030.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard Bloom said Thursday that hip-hop star Megan, who is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting her in the leg, claimed Lanez was harassing her from prison through an agent. The request for a protection order was granted.

This order was granted after a hearing. Lane’s attorney, Michael Hayden, said in his challenge to the restraining order request that his client’s incarceration meant there was “no present or future threat of any kind” to Megan and that there had been no recent relationship between the two. He said there was no direct contact with him.

According to a summary of Thursday’s hearing, Bloom found that Megan’s attorneys met their burden of proof to extend the temporary restraining order until January 9, 2030.

Hayden did not immediately return a message seeking comment Friday.

Megan obtained the interim order in November, alleging that Lanez, a Canadian rapper whose real name is Daystar Peterson, continues to use third parties to harass her online.

According to the petition, phone records from the California Correctional Facility in Tehachapi show Lanez orchestrating attacks on Megan’s credibility, including falsely claiming that the gun and bullet fragments from the incident were missing. It is said to be showing.

In December 2022, Lanez was convicted of three felonies. Possessing a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging the firearm with gross negligence.

The judge denied a motion for a new trial from Lanes’ attorney, who is appealing his conviction.

Megan testified at trial that Lanez shot her in the back of her leg and yelled at her to dance as they left the SUV they were in after returning from a party at Kylie Jenner’s home in the Hollywood Hills. did.

Megan, 29, was already a rising star at the time of the incident, and her music’s popularity has skyrocketed since then. She won the 2021 Grammy Award for Best New Artist and had a No. 1 single with “Savage,” which featured Beyoncé and a guest appearance on Cardi B’s “WAP.”

Lanez, 32, began releasing mixtapes in 2009 and steadily grew in popularity, transitioning into major label albums. His last two songs reached the top 10 on the Billboard charts.
