The Bitcoin Open, a combined golf and poker tournament hosted by Bitcoin Sports Network and Satstreet, is scheduled to take place on June 8, 2026 at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. This event will be held at the club during its 50th anniversary year.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1976, Glen Abbey Golf Club is one of Canada’s most famous golf venues. It has hosted the Canadian Open multiple times and is known for its championship-level layout and professional golf history. The course is located approximately 30 minutes west of Toronto and serves as a public golf facility with an important heritage in Canadian sports.
The Bitcoin Open features a scramble-style golf tournament on the main championship course during the day, followed by a Texas Hold’em poker tournament in the evening. The golf portion typically uses a team scramble format with groups of four players. Field size is limited and organizers note strong demand, with fewer team spots remaining as of mid-May 2026.
Event prizes include two separate hole-in-one prizes, each consisting of 1 Bitcoin. Additional golf prizes include longest drive and closest drive to the pin. The golf winner will also receive a ticket to the 2027 Bitcoin Golf Championship, scheduled to be held in Nashville, Tennessee prior to the 2027 Bitcoin Conference. The winner of the poker tournament will receive CAD 5,000 in stablecoins.
The list of hall sponsors for this event has been announced. These include APX Lending, Tetra Digital Group, The Canadian Bitcoin Conference, Satstreet, True North Airlines, Ledn, Gator Mining Inc., Wealthsimple, CAD DIGITAL, PRIVATEDEBT Partners, McCarthy Tetrault, and Samara Asset Group.
Bitcoin Sports Network acts as an organizer of Bitcoin-themed sports and lifestyle events, including golf tournaments held in conjunction with major Bitcoin conferences. Satstreet, a Canadian Bitcoin-focused company, co-hosts the event and serves as one of the hall sponsors. The two organizations are collaborating on the Canadian version of Bitcoin Open.
The event is open to participants from the Bitcoin community, including builders, investors, and others active in the industry. Registration is handled through the official event website and tickets include both golf and poker components. The schedule includes on-course activities, meals, and networking time at the venue.
This will be the first time The Bitcoin Open will be held at Glen Abbey. Previous Bitcoin Sports Network golf events have been held in locations such as Las Vegas, often near large Bitcoin conferences. The Canadian event is positioned as a standalone gathering in the Toronto area.
Glen Abbey’s 50th anniversary provides additional context for this timing. The club has been at the heart of Canadian golf since its founding, training professionals and hosting amateur and professional competitions.
