This week, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko told the country’s energy minister Alexay Kushnarenko that he would like to use the surplus of electricity to accumulate reserves to mine cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

“Look at this mining. More and more people are heading towards me. If it’s beneficial for us, let’s do it,” President Lukashenko said. “We have extra electricity. Let them make this cryptocurrency and more.”

President Lukashenko touched on how the US embraces mining under President Donald Trump, and also mentioned that it is creating strategic preparations for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Especially the world’s largest economy. They announced yesterday that they would protect (Bitcoin and cryptocurrency). ”

“So they have a demand. Well, maybe we should do it ourselves,” Lukashenko continued. “Well, we attract some investors and sell electricity to them, but I don’t rule it out. But we need to do it ourselves. There’s such a proposal. I think you’ll get over this bureaucracy and report what you need to do.”

Last summer, President Trump hosted a US-based Bitcoin Miner at his Mar-a-Lago residence, learning about the industry and getting a better understanding of it and making the most of his future presidency. Since then, President Trump has repeatedly supported the Bitcoin mining, defended Bitcoin in many other ways, and has attracted the attention of other world leaders like Lukashenko. Leaders from other countries are paying attention.

Since President Trump proposed the idea of creating a strategic preparation for Bitcoin at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville last summer, government officials around the world have started proposing laws for their countries to adopt it and have debated the possibility that they may adopt it. Now, it’s officially happening after Trump announced that there is a U.S. strategic reserve on his true social channel.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick said today that he believes President Trump will move forward with these plans at the White House digital assets summit this Friday. As President Trump and the US continue to accept Bitcoin, other countries like Belarus who are paying attention are following their lawsuits as national adoptions accelerate.
