Transak has successfully obtained its inaugural money transmission license (MTL) from Alabama, a move set to enhance the security, speed, and regulatory compliance of cryptocurrency services in the U.S. The company aims to acquire additional state licenses to bolster its Web3 payment framework.

On October 3, 2024, Transak USA LLC marked a significant achievement by securing its first Money Transmission License (MTL) from the Alabama Securities Commission.

This key regulatory endorsement establishes Transak as a fully licensed financial entity within the state, representing a critical advancement in its endeavor to deliver secure and accessible cryptocurrency solutions nationwide.

Transak’s Growth in the U.S. Market

The acquisition of the Alabama MTL reinforces Transak’s dedication to adhering to regulations, underlining its aim to create a secure and transparent platform for cryptocurrency transactions across the U.S.

Currently, users can purchase cryptocurrencies in 46 states, and the company is actively pursuing further state licenses. This strategy underscores Transak’s commitment to making cryptocurrency accessible while complying with stringent financial regulations.

As a registered money services business with FinCEN, the new license serves as a significant assurance for users. It will enable Transak to provide enhanced security, quicker transactions, and a smoother user experience for cryptocurrency purchases in Alabama. This development is also expected to benefit the decentralized platforms that are integrated with Transak’s offerings, improving the overall customer experience and regulatory adherence.

“Obtaining a money transmitter license in Alabama reflects our dedication to compliance and our focus on making cryptocurrencies secure and accessible for everyone,” remarked Brian Keene, Transak’s head of compliance. “It encapsulates our mission,” he added.

Transak’s CEO, Sami Sturt, also highlighted the significance of the U.S. market, stating, “Acquiring state licenses like this is essential for providing the highest quality service here.”

With a user base exceeding 5.7 million across 160 countries, Transak is solidifying its position as the leading provider of Web3 payment infrastructure. With headquarters in Miami and additional offices and tech hubs globally, the company remains focused on securing more state licenses in the U.S. to enhance reliability and legal compliance for users, ensuring the best possible cryptocurrency experience.

The Alabama MTL represents a pivotal advancement for Transak, strengthening its presence in one of the most regulated and lucrative markets worldwide.
