R-FLA, according to court documents.

In a complaint filed last week in DC Superior Court, the Bozzuto Management Company said lawmakers did not pay rent totaling $85,009 between March and July. The monthly rent for the property is $20,833, according to court filings.

The management company is seeking for an order that allows the court to drive the factory out and requires the court to file future monthly payments until the case is resolved. The first hearing is scheduled for September 8th.

The lawsuit was first reported by independent journalist Roger Sollenberger.

The residents’ ledgers accompanying the management company’s lawsuit appear to indicate that Mills has repeatedly failed to pay rent on time, indicating that he was frequently assessed for late payment fees. He moved to property in June 2023.

According to court documents, Mills was served in January with a notice of paying more than $18,000 in past rents by February 26th, and a notice of the company’s intention to file a lawsuit.

A Mills spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday night, but Mills posted a screenshot earlier in the day.

The attorney listed in the management company did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Mills’ social media posts.

Police in February began investigating Mills on reports of alleged attacks at apartments on the same block as the rental dispute. Mills’ office said he denied “seriously” fraud, and a police spokesman at the time said no lawmakers had been arrested and no charges had been filed.

Mills has represented Florida’s 7th Congressional District since January 2023.
