ANAHEIM, CA – Rookie Center Fielder Denzel Clark has created an even more spectacular catch for track and field. This time, they reached the top of the wall to take home run of Los Angeles Angels Nolan Chanuel on Monday night.
The Angels had one and there was no one in the first one when Chanuel launched a 1-0 splitter from Grant Holman towards left center.
Clark ran, planting his right foot midway through the wall with a perfectly timed leap and grabbed the top for support. He extended his top half of his body a few feet over the wall, fully extending his left arm and grabbed his backhand.
Clark made a roar after catching. Chanuel stared at the outfield in disbelief, and Holman grabbed his hand over his head.
Clark has made some great catches since his debut on May 23rd. He took home run Blue Jays Alejandro Kirk a week and a half ago in his hometown of Toronto. And against Sacramento’s Baltimore on Friday, he snatched Jorge Mateo from an extra-bass hit with a backhand grab as he sprinted full speed against the wall in the center left.
