The son of “The Walking Dead” star Norman Reudus was arrested and charged on Saturday on suspicion of assault in an apartment in New York City.
Mingus Reedus, 25, pleaded not guilty to five charges Saturday, on court records show. The model faces charges of third-degree assault, recklessly causing assault, breathing criminal filibuster, second-degree harassment and aggravated harassment.
Officers responded to an ongoing assault in Manhattan’s Chelsea area at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, the New York Police Department said. The 33-year-old woman was observed with “minor injuries” on the neck and legs.
She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where Mingus Reeds was taken into custody, police said.
In a statement to NBC News on Sunday, Mingus Reedus’s lawyer Priya Chaudhry argued that the client’s innocence would be revealed when the facts of the case emerged.
“In spite of what the prosecutors said in court, that’s not evidence – they chose to charge Mingus below a misdemeanor,” Chaudhry said. “This speaks volume and is much larger than the prosecutor’s unsupported in court comments.”
She also said the judge released Mingus Reeds with his own perception that he “has no bail or supervision.”
Mingus Reedus is the son of Norman Reedus and Model Helena Christensen. According to E, he accepted a plea deal in 2022 after being accused of assaulting a woman at the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy in New York City. news.
The woman claimed that Mingus Reeds punched her in the face after a verbal discussion, but he told the New York Daily News that he “flocked” after the woman and her friends bumped into a group of his friends. He described the incident as an accident.
