According to a Dec. 7 statement shared with Crypto Briefing, Io.net founder Ahmad Shadid has pledged $130 million of his personal funds to develop a decentralized AI management organization (DeAIO) through O.XYZ. He said he invested US dollars. The project aims to create an autonomous AI system that operates independently of corporate control.
Shadid previously served as CEO of Io.net, where he worked on similar initiatives before resigning amid allegations surrounding the company’s operations.
He then founded O.XYZ, aiming to leverage significant GPU computing power and open-source AI models to create a platform that serves humanity rather than being controlled by a centralized organization. .
This new investment will support the development of O.XYZ’s so-called “AI CEO” designed to oversee decision-making and coordinate network contributors.
“In a future where there are super AIs, super AIs should be empowering people, not corporations trying to control them,” Shadid said. “By building a decentralized AI system, we will ensure that this innovative technology works for humanity, not shareholder profit.”
The DeAIO framework allows contributors to vote on AI decisions and receive rewards for their participation. An early prototype of the system is currently operational and shows the organizational structure of O.XYZ.
O.XYZ’s infrastructure includes terrestrial (ATLAS), orbital (ORBIT), and maritime (PACIFIC) nodes to maintain operations beyond the control of a single entity.
“By decentralizing ownership, O.XYZ protects AI development from political agendas and corporate pressure,” Shadid said. “Our sovereign infrastructure will ensure that AI remains a force, not a power over humanity.”
