Former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will be joining the advisory committee of Bond giant Pimco, which CNBC learns.
According to a report by CNBC’s Leslie Picker, Yellen, who joined other prominent officials in the world of economics and finance and also served as the Federal Reserve Chair, works on the board he meets several times a year.
According to the PIMCO website, the advisory committee’s mission is to “contribute insights to businesses regarding the global economic, political and strategic development and its relevance to financial markets.”
His current members include former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Former House Speaker, Joshua Bolten. Michelle Furunoy, former defense policy adviser under two US presidents. Ragram Rajan, economist and former governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
Additionally, former Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke was also a senior adviser to Pimco and vice-chairman of the central bank, Richard Clarida is the managing director of the company’s New York office.
Yellen served as Treasury Chief for all four years in the Biden administration, prior to that, he was awarded from 2014 to 2018. She was the first woman to hold each post. Before taking the Treasury Post Office, she worked as a prominent fellow at the Brookings facility think tank.
Based in Newport Beach, California, Pimco managed around $2 trillion for clients and once operated the world’s largest bond fund. Yellen has a past with the company and reported that in 2019 he raised a $180,000 lecture fee for the company.
