In a recent match against the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott exited the game during the fourth quarter due to a hamstring injury, leading to the insertion of backup quarterback Cooper Rush.

At the time of his departure, the Cowboys were ahead 27-13. Prescott completed 18 out of 24 attempts, accumulating 133 passing yards and throwing one touchdown.

Before this game, Dallas held a 3-4 record and was attempting to bounce back after consecutive losses, sitting at 3-2 before facing off against Atlanta in Week 9.

This season, Prescott has faced challenges, recording 11 touchdown passes against eight interceptions leading up to this game. His passer rating is currently at 84.5, the lowest of his career, alongside a quarterback rating of 47.5, also a career low. As of Week 9, his completion percentage and average yards per attempt rank second lowest in his professional history.

In September, Prescott signed a lucrative four-year, $240 million contract, making headlines as the highest-paid player in NFL history, with $231 million of that sum being guaranteed.

Cooper Rush, aged 30, began his NFL career with the Cowboys before spending the 2020 season with the New York Giants. He returned to Dallas in 2021 and had a notable 2022 season, starting five games in place of the injured Prescott, achieving a 4-1 record during that stretch.

Prior to Sunday’s game, Rush had maintained a completion rate of 60.8% throughout his career, with a total of 1,671 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys, currently positioned third in the NFC East, are set to face their arch-rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, in Week 10.
