Big PI Network Events Halfway: Pioneer Key Updates

An optional midpoint check-in took place last week.

tl; dr

Officially launched in late August, the PI Network’s Big Hackathon event reached the midpoint, with the team releasing a dedicated video to update the community on progress. In the meantime, the project’s native tokens have remained deep red on multiple scales, charting the lowest ever.

In the middle of a hackathon

Cryptopotato reported in August that the PI Network Core team had come up with a new way to interact with pioneers in the form of hackathons. The 2025 event will begin on August 21st, with final submission scheduled for October 15th, with optional Midpoint check-in on September 19th.

Intermediate video shows some of the applications that you have developed. The first is called StarMax. This makes it easy for users to purchase products with PI. Another, called Nature’s Pulse, connects consumers with farmers as the former allows them to “purchase fresh, affordable produce with PI and deliver directly to them.”

Eternal Rush is a PI Network native online game. With Reloadpi, PI owners can spend tokens on purchasing thousands of products from over 300 brands, including ordering pizza and other foods and drinks.

StreamPi is a newly created application for PI investors that allows you to upload and pay for content with a single token.

The team also reminded them that there will be a prize pool of 160,000 PI tokens for up to eight teams, which will be distributed in the following ways:

PI price update

Despite the obvious success of the hackathon and recent updates from the team, the project’s native tokens are unable to take a break. The asset hit a new all-time low just above $0.25 last week, and despite attempting to recover some kind of ground, it quickly stopped and was pushed south again.

The unlock schedule for next month is also somewhat concerning, as the release of up to 13.4 million coins could be released on October 1 and October 4, potentially increasing immediate sales pressure.
