The rapidly growing fire near the Grand Canyon has grown more than ten times the size over the past 24 hours.

According to the government website tracking wildfires, what was called the White Sage Fire in Lake Jacob, Arizona (about 250 miles southwest of Denver, Colorado) is called Jacobreak, Arizona (about 250 miles southwest of Denver, Colorado). 0% is included.

The fire was fired on Thursday on a lightning strike, prompting authorities to evacuate the northern edge of Grand Canyon National Park, according to the National Park Service.

On Friday, authorities said in a post by X that around 500 visitors have evacuated the area, with park employees and residents continuing to evacuate.

The wildfires also urged North and South Rims in Black Canyon in Gunnison National Park to evacuate.

As the white sage fires intensified, nearby Dragon Bravo Fire has grown to 1,500 acres on the northern edge of Grand Canyon National Park, officials said in an X post Friday.

“High temperatures, very low humidity, gusts of winds and very dry vegetation throughout the region” created the risk of wildfires, officials said.

The National Park Service said in a statement Friday that hikes in the Grand Canyon were not advised as the fires were furious and affecting the air quality of the park.
