As the votes are tallied in the U.S. presidential election, several key elements may influence the outcome: gender disparities, economic divides, the Latino electorate, or the impact of media and marketing strategies.

Steve Reisman, a senior economics correspondent for CNBC, engaged in discussions with four expert pollsters to analyze data on which demographics might favor Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump. The panel included NBC News national political correspondent Steve Kornacki, Mark Murray, the senior political editor at NBC News, Micah Roberts, a Republican pollster and Public Opinion Strategy Partner at CNBC, and Jay Campbell, a Democratic pollster from Hart Research.

The findings? While economic factors are likely to play a major role, other elements are also at play, including candidates’ personalities, voter turnout, which candidate signifies change, the capacity to energize supporters, and the final choice of undecided voters. These factors will help shape the decisions made at the polls.
