Vanessa Trump, the former spouse of Donald Trump Jr., announced on Friday that she is now cancer-free, following her earlier battle with breast cancer. This update came via a heartfelt video shared by her daughter, Kai Trump, who celebrated the moment with an embrace.
In the video, Vanessa Trump, age 48, conveyed her relief and joy by stating, “I am finally cancer-free.” This disclosure serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, particularly during October, which marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a time dedicated to promoting awareness regarding early detection, education, and support for those who are affected by the disease.
Kai Trump explained in the caption accompanying the video their mutual goal of raising awareness about breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection and preventative measures.
To further highlight the significance of breast cancer prevention, Vanessa and Kai engaged in a discussion with Dr. Nicole Saphier, a radiologist and Fox News medical contributor. Dr. Saphier emphasized the personalized nature of breast cancer experiences, stating, “When it comes to breast cancer, it’s not one size fits all. It feels different for everyone.”
Earlier this year, Vanessa Trump disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis on May 20, initially revealing she had been diagnosed in April. At that time, she was working with her medical team to develop a treatment plan and had recently undergone a surgical procedure. In a subsequent update, she reported that she had been recovering from surgery and was transitioning to the next phase of her treatment regimen.
Recent trends indicate that the rates of breast cancer among women under 50 have risen more sharply than those among older women. As a result, medical recommendations have adjusted the age for beginning routine screenings from 50 to 40. According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 16% of women diagnosed with breast cancer are under the age of 50.
